Sixpence None the Richer bassist Justin Cary dies at 50

Justin Cary, bassist for Sixpence None the Richer since 1997, has died at the age of 50 from a stroke. Leigh Nash, vocalist of the band, is the one who confirmed the news on his social networks. Cary joined the band just in time to record the album that brought Sixpence to fame, thanks to songs like ‘Kiss Me’.

“Our brother of 30 years (and bassist) Justin suffered a stroke Thursday night,” the statement begins. Leigh says Cary’s wife, Linda, has kept the band updated on the bassist’s situation “day and night”: “We love our brother so much that words don’t do him justice. “I know many others do it too,” the singer continues.

«We saw his brilliance, unsurpassed professionalism, class, humor and wit. There are many more adjectives to describe him. Please pray for Justin and Linda,” the statement concludes. In addition to being part of Sixpence None the Richer, who were nominated for a Grammy twice, Cary was also part of Counting Crows and Blue Country.
