Rosalía, great winner of the Music Awards: performances and honors

The Third Edition of the Spanish Academy of Music Awards took place at IFEMA and Rosalía was the great winner of the night, winning 8 awards thanks to ‘LUX’. Among these, Artist, Album and Song of the year. Although he was ultimately unable to attend the gala, the president of Sony Music Iberia came out to accept the award and assured that they had tried “until the last moment.”

Leonor Watling has been in charge of presenting a gala in which Leiva has also been awarded, with four statuettes; Guitarricadelafuente, with two victories in the alternative music categories; Amaral (Best Pop/Rock Album), Luz Casal (Best Traditional Pop Album) or Fito y Fitipaldis (Best Rock Album).

On the other hand, Joan Manuel Serrat received the Honor Award: “At no time, when I started playing and writing songs, did I think that at this point I would find myself in a situation like this,” he said in his speech.

The musical performances, especially the tribute to Robe Iniesta by Fito Robles (Siloé), Rafael Riqueni, Lela Soto, Walls and Xoel López, were the most talked about of the evening.

The figure of Jorge Martínez, from Ilegales, was also remembered with Ultraligera and Juanma Montoya performing ‘New Times, Wild Times’, and a medley was dedicated to Serrat starring Andrés Suárez, María Terremoto, Iván Melon Lewis and Antonio Serrano.
