It was evident that Rosalía was going to open at number 1 on the Spanish album chart with ‘LUX’, her fourth album. The question was whether it would achieve direct certification or not, and so it is: ‘LUX’ debuts in Spain with a direct platinum record, equivalent to 40,000 units sold or its equivalent in listens. Furthermore, like Taylor Swift, she does a double, since ‘La Perla’ enters number 1 in singles. The 15 songs from the album are in the top 20 singles in Spain.
JENESAISPOP has been able to find out the real sales figures for ‘LUX’ in our country. There have been 51,564 units in one week, constituting the best debut of 2025, above Bad Bunny (which did not have a physical edition) and Taylor Swift (38,000 units for “Showgirl”). Of those almost 52,000 copies that Rosalía of ‘LUX’ has moved, 27,946 have been real sales and 23,618 are streaming points.
Of the almost 28,000 units shipped in stores, 17,457 copies have been on vinyl, that is, the majority. Furthermore, it must be added that the album has had distribution problems: in our Rosalía forum, many users have complained about not having found copies in stores. Sony seems to be making more copies for Christmas in a hurry. Will they arrive on time?
Of course, ‘LUX’ is going to have a difficult time being the best-selling album of 2025 in Spain. Bad Bunny flies too far with the equivalent of 224,685 copies sold throughout the year: it came out in January. 99% are streaming points (SEA), since there is still no physical edition of ‘I should have taken more photos’.
As a result of Rosalía’s enormous success, Pablo Alborán is in number 2 with ‘KM0’: it is the first album of his career that does not reach number 1. Alborán has sold 7,728 copies and has 646 SEA points. Those 8,374 units would have given it the top 1 almost any other week of the year, but not this one.
The album that rises the most this week is ‘Bodhiria’ (2024) by Judeline, which goes from 83 to 47.
The next two entries on the list are those of FERNANDOCOSTA with ‘Dolor de barrio’ in 18th place and ‘Badly calibrated childhood’ by Barry B in 19th place. The first has been achieved solely thanks to streaming; the second, thanks to vinyl sales, which is placed in the direct top 3 of its corresponding sublist, behind Rosalía and Alborán.
The rest of the entries on the list are debated between urban music and pop-rock. In the first group, ‘Do Not Disturb’, Young Miko’s new album, enters at number 49; ‘EXTRADITABLESSED’ by BLESSED, at 50, and ‘SATURACION POP’ by YSY A and EVLAY, at 60.
In the second we must talk about Miguel Ríos, who places ‘The Last Waltz’ at 58; ALBERTUCHO, who places ‘XX Años Ladrando’ at 66, and MAKI and María Artés, who place ‘PAVI & AMÉN’ at 97.
