Among the artists who have decided to make a “comeback” in 2026 is Robyn. After releasing ‘Dopamine’, her first solo single in 8 years, the Swede has shared the details of her new album ‘Sexistial’, which will be released on March 27.
While the information about the vinyl is already public on the Fnac website, Robyn has revealed on Apple Music the cover, the official tracklist and two new singles, ‘Talk to Me’ and ‘Sexistial’, which you can listen to below.
In both cases we are facing a decided return of Robyn from ‘Body Talk’ (2010). ‘Talk to Me’, the Song of the Day, is a collaboration with Max Martin, who produced Robyn’s 1995 debut and later worked with the Swede on ‘Time Machine’.
‘Talk to Me’ is a worthy successor to the latter, an electropop bop that will reconcile those who consider ‘Honey’ a lesser Robyn album. ‘Talk to Me’ uses an exultant, containedly explosive future disco base and proposes two possible interpretations. The first is literal: Robyn is about to orgasm (“I’m going to come quickly, so guide me”). The second is spiritual: Robyn is celebrating the power of love, which serves as a beacon: “I lost my path and my beliefs, but with your blessing, I can achieve it, your prayers of love are all I need.”
For its part, ‘Sexistial’ is the robotic and hyperfuturistic single that is related to ‘Don’t Fuckin’ Tell Me What to Do’ and ‘We Dance to the Beat’. The production is once again clinical and mechanical, while Robyn, displaying a biographical transparency that refers to ‘brat’ (2024), tries to reconcile her motherhood with her hedonistic spirit. She reveals that she has been a mother by donation, jokes that she would have liked Adam Driver to be the father (“he always gave me a hard time”) and portrays herself looking at apps at the fertility clinic and looking at Instagram “while breastfeeding” her baby.
Curiously, the concept of ‘Sexistial’ is similar to that of ‘EUSEXUA’ (2025) by FKA twigs, another album titled with a neologism designed around sensuality. For Robyn, exploring her “sensual life” is akin to writing songs, the official press release relates.
Robyn’s first full-length album since 2018 will once again be concise, as the official tracklist lists a total of nine songs. Among them, ‘Dopamine’ occupies track 2, while ‘Talk to Me’ and ‘Sexistial’ – recently performed live – appear in 6th and 7th place.
Coincidentally, the Instagram account “Sexistial”, launched in the last few hours, and followed only by Robyn, has posted photos of Prince or Kate Bush on its wall, probably pointing to the album’s influences. This is the tracklist:
1. Really Real
2. Dopamine
3. Blow My Mind
4. Sucker For Love
5. It Don’t Mean A Thing
6. Talk To Me
7. Nonexistent
8. Light Up
9. Into The Sun
