Premiere: Pau Corea reinvents “Gir◎” with Mikel Izal

Paul Korea reinvents his song “GIR◎” in a version recorded live in the studio and filmed so that we can witness his performance alongside Mikel Izal.

Combining pop and electronic music close to drum’n’bass, Pau Corea gives new air to the song that opened his album last year. And if in May Corea and Mikel Izal presented a version of “El presente” from the second (specifically taken from the album “Fear and paradise”which Mikel also published in 2023), in addition to a version of the song “I had to run” by Antonio Vega, now it is Korea’s turn to be the protagonist.

This version shows a different structure, of longer duration and choosing to give greater prominence to the electronic part. In any case, together with Pau Corea and Mikel Izal we will also meet Ben Wirjo to the battery and Alejandro Elizalde to keyboards. The song has been written and produced by Pau Corea, who has also been in charge of mixing and mastering. Regarding the video, it has been made and edited by VikPamNox.

Regarding this collaboration, Corea points out that: “Mikel and I understand each other very well, we work very comfortably together, and this collaboration came out very naturally, like the two others we have done. It is a song that begins in a delicate way, we start listening to Mikel in a very soft register, which embellishes it, by the way, and as it grows we both gain in vocal intensity.”
