“Play Me” will be Kim Gordon’s third solo album

Kim Gordon has released a new single “Not Today”, which becomes the main theme of his third full-length solo, “Play Me”.

The artist has released “Not Today”, the main track from her next solo album, accompanied by a short film directed by the brand’s founders and filmmakers. Rodarte, Kate and Laura Mulleavytogether with the director of photography Christopher Blauvelt. “I started singing in a way that I hadn’t sung in a long time. This other voice has come out,” the artist declared about the tension in her voice throughout the song. The album, “Play Me”, will be published on March 13 through Matador Records/Popstockand will be composed of the following songs: “Play Me”, “Girl With a Look”, “No Hands”, “Black Out”, “Dirty Tech”, “Not Today”, “Busy Bee”, “Square Jaw”, “Subcon”, “Post Empire”, “Nail Biter” and “Byebye25!”.

The artist’s solo debut, in 2019showed that she has always been in tune with avant-garde sounds. And in 2024, “The Collective”, led her to obtain two award nominations Grammy. This next album deals with the collateral damage of the billionaire class, emphasizing problems such as the flattening that culture is suffering due to artificial intelligence or the demolition of democracy.

Kim Gordon began her career in Sonic Youtha band he founded with Thurstone Moore, Lee Ranaldo and Steve Shelley. With them she published more than fifteen albums, until their separation in 2014. In 2019, the artist embarked on her solo path, and is now on her way to launching her third album, scheduled for this spring.
