Pablo und Destruktion charges against Sánchez and La Benéfica, it defends itself

The Asturian musician Pablo und Destruktion has criticized the visit made this week by the president of the government Pedro Sánchez to the town of Infiesto, specifically to a place called La Benéfica de Piloña, in which Rodrigo Cuevas participates. In a video uploaded to networks, Pablo describes the event as an “electoral campaign” and complains that “the rural world is no longer an alternative space, it is taken over by power, by the dominant ideology.”

What could have been a pertinent debate about where the true left is and what will happen to rural Spain, by what was once a great conversationalist, is overshadowed when Pablo und Destruktion uses some hoaxes and half-truths to prove, common among the extreme right, to charge against the coalition government, such as that “Sánchez took power from the PSOE with a campaign financed by his father-in-law’s gay sauna prostitution network” and “he made a “punch removing Edu Madina.”

Those primaries were won by Sánchez by more than 16,000 votes, while Ábalos allegedly manipulated a few votes locally, even according to the most radical far-right press. On the other hand, Sánchez’s father-in-law – now deceased – was separated from those saunas in the 2000s, according to Newtral, while he came to power from the PSOE several years later, in 2014.

Pablo und Destruktion does not finish attacking Rodrigo Cuevas because they both started playing “under greenhouses”, but he does believe that the “independent motives” have been lost. «If those of the 15M raised their heads and saw this… (…) What is going to happen when the Government changes in La Benéfica? Because they are going to take away the cake that they are sharing among themselves,” he complains, adding: “this is sowing discord in the towns. Because before you could be calmly having a coffee with milk without missing knowing that the president is going to be there indoctrinating and telling us nonsense.

La Benéfica has made a humorous statement, in the form of Reels, remembering that this establishment does not belong to Rodrigo Cuevas, but to several people, that the Association is not for profit and explaining its method of financing. These include donations, subsidies from local, regional, national and European administrations; bar consumption or tickets for some events; and the rent of the room.

This has been the case with this week’s event: the room was rented to EPA, an association that works on rural youth issues, for an event with the Ministry of Ecological Transition. And there appeared “The Dog, Le Perre.” They remember that this was not “an activity of La Benéfica, it is not advertising, but rather a rental to EPA” for a protest activity by young people from rural areas, which aligns with their principles. La Benéfica criticizes the existence of “hate speeches that intermingle.”
