Ozzy Osbourne, iconic Black Sabbath singer, heavy metal pioneer and one of the most important rock figures, has died at age 76. This has been announced by his family in a statement: «With an indescribable sadness, we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne died this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by much love ».
The news comes only a few weeks after the farewell show Black Sabbath, titled ‘Back to the Beginning’. This took place in the Villa Park of Birmingham and included the performances of some of the most important bands of the genre, which paid tribute to the Osbourne group, such as Metallica or Guns ‘N’ Roses. It was the first time since 2005 that the vocalist acted with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward.
After a four -song set, Osbourne went to the public and thanked for his unconditional support: “We have allowed us to live this incredible life, thanks from the bottom of our hearts,” said the nickname as prince of darkness.
In recent years, Osbourne would have suffered multiple health problems. Among these, a Parkinson diagnosis. He had not played a complete concert since 2018 and has crossed numerous medical operations.
