Nourished by time hates his “true” work in ‘9 2 5’

Nourished by Time publishes a new album on August 22. ‘The Passionate Ones’ happens to ‘Erotic Probiotic 2’, which was a great criticism success. From the next job we have known two singles, first of all the abstract ‘Max Potential’, about an artist who is not ready for the weight of his success, and a second called ‘9 2 5’ that we select today as a song of the day.

As its name indicates, ‘9 2 5’, in reference to the works “from 9 to 5”, it is about a worker trapped in the meaningless routine, while at night dives in his artistic dreams. The lyrics talk about curing in a restaurant for the day, and write love songs at night. “It’s a hateful life, and you have two options,” is your chorus.

Music, dominated by a nice piano riff, suggests much more than the second than the first, achieving a strange balance between the classic melodies of the 70s and what could be a House remix. Magically, a song that, by name, should take us to Dolly Parton, actually does Bon Iver, The Rapture and Carole King … at the same time.

XL advances that Nourished by Time’s album will represent “a unique sound world that serves as a backdrop for reflections on love, work, existentialism, dreams, disappointment and hope.”
