The Catalans No Way Out They were one of the most important bands of melodic hardcore or Spanish punk pop twenty years ago. And they will be again on a tour that consolidates their return and that will take them to several Spanish cities.
Oxi, Noel, Txosse and Fèlix They met for the first time to celebrate ten years of their third and most successful work, “Bipolar”and later last year they met again to celebrate their twenty years, managing to sell out all the tickets for their performance in Barcelona. It was clear that there was a hunger for No Way Out and the group has decided to return to the road with a tour that, for now, will take them to five Spanish cities.
The most famous group born in Cerdanyola del Vallès (Barcelona) was also the most important punk pop band in the country after the publication of “Bipolar”an ambitious double work (in Spanish and English) produced by Joe Marlett (Foo Fighters, Blink 182) and sponsored by a multinational like Warner. They came from skate punk and the most Californian melodic hardcore, with albums sung entirely in English such as “Long Way To Nowhere” and “Waitin’ For Sunday”but they dared to use Spanish and much more accessible pieces. The result was authentic youth anthems, such as “My Way,” “A Lo Perdido,” “27 (I’m Still As Always)” or “Desplegable.” With this repertoire they went very far (Japan included!), they influenced other bands that were then taking their first steps (Puk2, Daylight, Marvin, Yaw…), and above all, they provided the soundtrack for a generation that was still buying records.
But the quartet has decided to take their current energy and their legacy – unless they record new material one day – to different Spanish cities. Apart from his performance in the Altimira Fest (May 9)which is held in their own city and in whose organization some of its members are involved, No Way Out will perform in A Coruña (April 12, Playa Club), Bilbao (April 24, Stage Live), Madrid (October 4, Mon Live), Seville (November 7, Sala X) and Valencia (November 20, Sala Jerusalem).
