Musicians at the Oscars: Dua Lipa, Mick Jagger, Olivia Rodrigo…

With the end of monoculture, now that radio is definitely going one way and social networks are going another very different way, it is widely said that there are no longer top-of-the-line superstars like there used to be in the world of music. However, the Oscars red carpet was generous in its invitations to pop singers, who gave their best with their looks, especially for Vanity Fair. Especially Troye Sivan.

Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, Karol G, Tate McRae and even Mick Jagger himself – who you see here posing with Jon Batiste – did not want to miss this year’s Oscars.

Of course, there was no shortage of real musical protagonists either. ‘Golden’ won the award for Best Song – although they decided to cut the thank-you speech – while the best soundtrack went to Ludwig Goransson for ‘The Sinners’.

Barbra Streisand also made the news for performing, after a speech in tribute to Robert Redford, a fragment of ‘The Way We Were’, from the film of the same name that they starred in together in 1973. The film won the Oscar for Best Original Song and also Best Original Screenplay.
