Mitski is inspired by Shirley Jackson for her new video clip

Mitsky has announced his new full-length, “Nothing’s About to Happen to Me”, which will see the light next February 27. Now he presents “Where’s My Phone?”, with a clip inspired by a horror legend.

Last week, the artist began to give clues on her social networks about what her next album could be after the publication of “The Land is Inhospitable And So We Are” in 2023. Now, he has confirmed that his eighth album, “Nothing’s About to Happen to Me“, will arrive February 27 through Dead Oceansentirely written by the artist and produced by Patrick Hyland.

Along with the announcement, Mitski has shared the first single that previews the album, “Where’s My Phone?”, which is accompanied by a video clip directed by Noel Paul. Inspired by the novelWe Have Always Lived In the Castle” by the highly respected horror writer Shirley Jackson. The video shows the artist herself playing the role of a paranoid woman who tries to protect her sister inside a Gothic-style house, while overcoming a series of obstacles.

Mitskysinger and songwriter, released her first full-length in 2012. After this, six more arrived, the last one including the song “My Love Mine All Mine.” Now, she is preparing for the release of her seventh album, in which the artist will immerse herself in a rich narrative whose main character is a lonely woman in a neglected house.
