Mitski gives the details of her 8th album and releases a rock shot

Mitski has given the details of her long-awaited eighth album, the first since ‘My Love Mine All Mine’ hit streaming in 2023 and, above all, 2024. We are talking about close to 2 billion views for a song released on Dead Oceans, an independent record label known for launching, to mention a couple of names, Wednesday or Waxahatchee.

‘My Love Mine All Mine’ was a song with echoes of noir jazz that has also tended to go viral in the last couple of Christmases. Mitski’s new single, however, couldn’t be further from her sound: ‘Where’s My Phone’ is an indie-rock shot that represents a return to her guitar-driven, distorted beginnings.

‘Where’s My Phone’, the first preview of an album called ‘Nothing’s About to Happen to Me’ that goes on sale on February 27, in a matter of a month, is a purely Mitski song in its riffs, energy, development and, above all, story. A theme crossed by the disorientation of someone who loses the phone as he loses the direction of life. We leave you with the video clip and tracklist, below:
1. In a Lake
2. Where’s My Phone?
3. Cats
4. If I Leave
5. Dead Women
6. Instead of Here
7. I’ll Change for You
8.Rules
9. That White Cat
10. Charon’s Obol
11. Lightning
