The guitarist of Pearl Jam, Mike McCreadyhas announced “Farewell to Seasons”which will include a graphic novel and a rock opera. In his words, he has been working on this project for years.
The artist has been developing the idea for more than twenty years. Which was originally conceived as a musical. It has finally taken shape as a graphic novel and a cinematic rock opera created together with Cameron Crowe and writer Mark Sable.
The story is about David Williams, a fictional musician trying to find his place in the Seattle music scene in the early ’90s. The project is about the creativity, community and chaos that characterized that time.
The graphic novel will be illustrated by Sebastian Piriz and it will come to light October 6 via Z2 Comics. The special editions will include a soundtrack with original songs written by McCready.
The project comes after Pearl Jam’s recent tour of the United States, in which the band presented its latest album, Dark Matter.
