Maximiliano Calvo and La Realidad Club inaugurate La Juntada, a new musical space in Madrid

The Board It will be an Open Mic – open mic session – in which musicians will be able to present their songs. The project was born from the hand of Maximiliano Calvo in The Reality Club of Madrid.

The Meeting will be a bimonthly open mic session that will be presented by the musician and composer Maximiliano Calvo and will host musicians and poets who will be able to present their work directly to the public. It will be at La Realidad Club, at number 11 on the central Calle de Echegaray, five minutes from Puerta del Sol.

The intention is, in a city that has given in to gentrification, to recover the spirit of historic clubs like La Mandrágora. In “La Juntada”, participants will be able to go on stage to present their songs and texts in a simple guitar or piano and voice set, designed so that the songs shine in their simplicity and so that new artists can mature their proposals in front of the public.

“It will be a musical and leisure event open to the public, but above all an intimate meeting point and camaraderie for the music scene,” says Maximiliano Calvo, who will act as host, introducing the participants of each edition and the special guests, also performing a couple of his own songs selected for each occasion. For the inaugural edition of “La Juntada”, the special guests will be the musicians Startle Girl and Luichi Boy (Cupid) and the poets Rodrigo Marina and Carolina Treboada. It will be on February 19 and the session will begin with a talk between Calvo and the journalist Martin P. Corralregular collaborator of Mondo Sonoro.

For Maximum meeting, put aside the digital world and look for some sensitive delusional people in La Realidad, like in the Madrid of yesteryear. We will start with a debate about the loss of the idiosyncrasy of each capital. We live in a world that only wants to unite all the places with chains, leave us inside the house watching Tiktok and ordering hamburgers, but we are not going to leave it because if the song has served any purpose, it is to unite us, to fight, to feel less alone.
