Marc Giró, one of the rising presenters on current television, has signed for Atresmedia and, in 2026, he will begin a new professional stage outside of public television. Since 2023, his successful program Late Xou has been broadcast on La 1, after La Resistencia, and has frequently led its time slot, despite criticism from some sectors, many linked to the right. Vox had accused Giró of “laughing at the Spaniards” and had threatened to “witheringly” fire the presenter as soon as he came to power.
Atresmedia has anticipated this circumstance and has placed Giró in LaSexta, where this year it will present a new program “similar to Late Xou.” He is expected to maintain his humorous tone, his irreverence, his social criticism and his commitment to music.
Late Bad Gyal sharing his festival miseries or Guitarricadelafuente offering a beautiful acoustic performance of ‘Who’s Afraid of the Machine?’, have been other highlights of the last year.
Furthermore, Late Xou has stood out for its commitment to musical performances. Among her most talked-about live shows are Amaia playing the harp in ‘Ya is’ and Rigoberta Bandini performing ‘Amore Amore Amore’ completely painted in blue. Manuel Carrasco, Alice Wonder, Anabel Lee and Rozalén have also performed in the program.
