Rototom Sunsplash has presented the first preview of the poster for what will be its thirty-first edition. And at the head are Major Lazerin format soundsystemand the Jamaican artist Shenseea.
It will be the thirty-first edition, once again reaffirming Benicàssim as one of the great world centers of Jamaican music, which means from reggae to dancehall, including a long list of urban music. The dates will be August 17 to 22with a series of special concerts at the Welcome Party on August 16.
At the head of the poster are Major Lazer –in soundsystem format–, Shenseea, Protoje, The Skatalites with Alpheus, Queen Omega, Dub Inc, Biga*Ranx, Kybba or Mr Vegas.
But those are not the only names, since there are also artists who usually appear on our pages such as Lia Kali or the super band fusion project G-5, with Kiko Veneno, Muchachito, El Canijo de Jerez, Diego ‘Ratón’ and Tomasito. Other participants will be Pure Negga, Easy Riddim Maker, Biga Ranx, Bleu Soleil, Kybba, Charly Black, Bamby, Lady Leshurr, Las Ninyas del Corro, Eskorzo, Natalia Doco, Ilan Amores, Omega Nebula and others.
This edition that is presented under the motto The Place to Be… Reggae and that reinforces the essence of the festival as “a space to be built collectively and in which music functions as a common language for the thousands of people – of different ages, cultures and origins – who visit it every year.”
With this advance, Rototom officially activates the countdown towards its thirty-first edition, once again combining music, performing arts, debates and talks, cinema, live art, international gastronomy, dance and dozens of cultural experiences to enjoy with the family.
