Lydia Rodríguez describes “continued abuse” in Alleged Implications; Nacho Mañó responds

Lydia Rodríguez, now former vocalist of Presuntos Implicados, has published a statement on her social networks in which she denounces the years of “continuous abuse” and the “absolute lack of camaraderie” she suffered with the band. Rodríguez joined the group after the departure of Sole Giménez and has been in its ranks for 17 years.

The singer assures that what happened behind the scenes was “very different from what was seen under the spotlight”, explaining, in the first place, that she was never able to make decisions in the band. She says that she was made to feel “completely excluded” and that she had “no voice or vote.” What’s more, Rodríguez speaks of extreme “control” that even prevented him from “speaking about whatever I wanted on my networks.”

Those accused are both his former colleagues, Juan Luis Giménez and Nacho Mañó, and the band’s representation team, directly describing them as “accomplices.” One of the comments that he claims he heard during this time was from a member of the team who told him that “everyone has to want to fuck you” when he went on stage.

Rodríguez expanded the information during his visit to the ‘Fiesta’ program, where he said that a meeting was called to talk about his “extra kilos” or that sometimes he was required to change his clothes before going out to perform. Furthermore, he says that he now understands “perfectly Sole Giménez and the reasons that led her to leave at the time.”

Finally, Lydia explains that she was not allowed to take part or participate in other creative projects other than Presuntos Implicados, “even when the group did not generate income.” The artist confesses that she endured this “unsustainable” situation for fear of losing an opportunity that was not guaranteed at that time in her career.

Nacho Mañó has responded to the entire situation in an Instagram post, in which he has mainly addressed the journalists who have spread the information: “With the number of journalists I know, some of them claim to be my friends, and for 20 years my honorability and my good name have been called into question, and none of them have had the gesture of publishing anything in my defense,” he wrote.

The producer and guitarist also communicates that a few weeks ago he spoke with his wife and daughters to tell them that he was not going to participate in any more interviews “because I do not believe in their value” and to “protect myself”: “I am also not going to participate in any social event. I withdraw. “Let the music speak from now on.”
