Love of Lesbian are going to move away from the spotlight after 25 years of non-stop albums and concerts. They have announced this on their social networks, ensuring that their trip “requires a pit stop to look at the stars from the side of the road.” They have also made it clear that they will complete the tour they have pending until September of this year.
“After 25 years of uninterrupted activity and vans that became spaceships and stages that have been our most faithful home, we have decided that it is time to lower the curtain for a while,” they say on Instagram. They clarify that it is not a “goodbye”, but rather a “long-term see you soon.”
Although many artists announce a break to last a sigh, the Catalan group wants “the silence that will come to be as honest as the noise we have shared.” Furthermore, the news comes at one of the band’s most popular moments, after the release of ‘Salvation Army’ and the sold out for their first two dates at Botánico Nights. The third is already on sale.
The final tour of Love of Lesbian, described by the band as the “last journey”, will extend through Spain, South America and Europe to “make that pending goodbye with those who have given us so much over the years.” “We leave the spotlight without really knowing when the first chord will sound again, but with the certainty that this journey of a quarter of a century has been worth every second of insomnia,” they conclude.
