One of the great discoveries of the UMusic Song Contest of our forums, brought by the El_human user, is Loaded Honey. This is the project of two of Jungle’s three members, specifically J Lloyd and Lydia Kitto. There are traits in common with the group, such as retro character, and also differences.
‘Love Made Trees’ is the 11 -song album and just over half an hour that Loaded Honey have taken out of the sleeve earlier this summer. They are songs soaked with Soul and Philadelphia sound, which has especially dazzled the media such as The Line of Best Fit.
The group has raised comparisons with The Avalanches among our users, more for its summer sound, the place to which they transport you and the inspiration 70’s, which due to the continued use of samples as a puzzle. In fact, Loaded Honey are much less danceable than avalanches or jungle, and their references go further back in time. Although the album closes with two cuts passed by Vocoder or Helio, ‘Really Love’ baby of the Doo Wop of the 50 and ‘Over’ goes to the choral pop of the 40.
In ‘Don’s Speak’, our song of the day today, sound especially close to the Jackson 5 of the early 70s in the voices, and the Gayo contemporary Marvin in the arrangements. “Why have you done this to me again?” The chorus of this song is repeatedly asks, which, having been presented by Bruno Mars would be a hit worldwide.
As Jungle, Loaded Honey also care for aesthetics and has designed a piece for each of the 11 songs on their album. The ‘Don’t Speak’ is located in a road motel, definitely at another time, and representing the promotional photos of the duo.
