The Irish Trio Kneecap releases new single “No Comment”, this time in collaboration with the drum’n’bass and dubstep producer Sub Focus.
The protest content that the band covers in their songs is nothing new, but perhaps it is more surprising that they do it with such rhythm and in collaboration with Sub Focusone of the great British electronic producers.
Built on a powerful basslinethe song denounces the abuse of power of the British State and responds to the recent political persecution against one of its members, Mo Chara.
The release of the song will be accompanied by a limited edition seven-inch vinyl, whose cover art includes the mural “Royal Courts of Justice” by the renowned artist Banskyand which also includes the unreleased “Get Your Brits Out”.
At the same time that they are going through a complicated stage regarding their political and judicial conflicts, Kneecap are experiencing one of their best artistic moments. This summer they performed at the Glastonbury Festivalin addition to performing at other festivals such as Wide Awake, 2000 Trees, green man and together with the renowned Fontaines DC in large venues. They are currently on a sold-out UK tour whilst raising funds for Palestine through organizations in Gaza, Belfast and the West Bank. On the other hand, the band will be next year at the Primavera Sound of Barcelona, Porto Spring and Boomtown Festival.
