Next April 24 the new work of the Irish will see the light Kneecap. It will be titled “FENIAN” and you can now listen to the first trailer titled “Liars Tale”.
Since its inception, the Belfast trio Kneecap has become one of the most important protest and protest groups on the current scene, both with its first songs and with the song that was about its beginnings. To this must be added all the problems they have had with justice as a result of their statements about Gaza. But we must not forget that it is their songs that will keep us interested in their proposal. And now the new ones arrive.
The first one we can hear is “Liars Tale”, one of the compositions that will be part of “FENIAN”the second album by the trio made up of Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap and DJ Próvaí, which will be released on April 24 by Heavenly Recordings/PIAS.
About the album, the group comments: “They tried to stop us by labeling Kneecap as “terrorists”, with cancellations and statements from the Prime Minister himself. We had all the motivation we needed… this is not an impulsive reaction, but a thoughtful response to those who tried to silence us. And they failed. Made with Dan Carey, a producer we are proud to have worked with. It’s a more sinister sound… because these are sinister times. But also defiant and triumphant. Inspired by the term “Fenian”, a word that named warriors in Irish mythology and later used as an insult towards the Irish. Now we use it to name anyone who speaks truth to power, they thought the Irish language would die. Thanks to Muintir na Gaeltachta and all the Gaels who refused to let their culture and language be destroyed. Kneecap is very similar. returned.”
The album will include these songs: “Éire go Deo”, “Smugglers & Scholars”, “Carnival”, “Palestine (feat. Fawzi)”, “Liars Tale”, “FENIAN”, “Big Bad Mo”, “Headcase”, “An Ra”, “Cold At The Top”, “Occupied 6”, “Gael Phonics”, “Cocaine Hill (feat. Radie Peat)” and “Irish Goodbye (feat. Kae Tempest).
Let us also remember that we will be able to see them in the Primavera Sound Festival on Saturday, June 4.
