Katy Perry has finally received a fine for the recording of the video of ‘Lifes’ in the S’espalmador area, in the Balearic Islands. The Ministry of Natural Environment of the Balearic Government began an investigation in August 2024 to clarify whether the filming had been harmful to the environment and this has come to an end with a fine of 5,000 euros.
In the ‘life’ video clip, Perry was around the coves and clubs of Ibiza and Formentera mainly, but also included some scenes in the protected dunes of S’espalmador, one of the areas of greatest ecological value of the island. The enclave is protected and from the Ministry assured that the producer of the video clip had not requested the appropriate authorization.
Now, it has come to light that the final fine has reached 5,000 euros and that it has already been paid by the artist’s team. There will be no additional sanctions. The authorities have reported that, although the offense has been “serious”, there is no evidence of important or durable damage.
At the time, Capital Records responded to the news of the video investigation clarifying that the permit had not been approved at the time of the recording, but they did have “verbal authorization to move forward with the filming.”
