Kanye West apologizes in a letter and says he is stable

Kanye West has posted a full-page letter on the Wall Street Journal bulletin board apologizing for his erratic attitude of late. West has lost million-dollar deals for his anti-Semitic messages and “pro-Hitler” statements, although views of his music on streaming platforms have remained at healthy levels, especially in the United States.

This is not the first time that West apologizes for his words, but it is the most “official” time, since the letter even appears signed by the artist and has all the appearance of having been assisted by a lawyer.

West – who now calls himself Ye – explains that he suffers from type I bipolar disorder, denies having autism and says that, in January 2025, he fell into a four-month manic period that caused “paranoia and impulsive behavior” so severe that they “destroyed” his life and made him “at times not want to continue living.” West attributes his promotion of the swastika to a “fractured” state of mind, during which he “lost touch with reality.”

West places the origin of his bipolar disorder in unexamined neurological damage after the car accident he suffered in 2002, which reportedly caused damage to the right frontal lobe of his brain. He says that people who suffer from this disease may feel that they see reality more clearly than others, when in truth “they are completely losing their way.”

The letter, titled “To Those I Have Hurt,” specifically addresses the Jewish people Kanye West has offended, as well as the African-American community, which he says he has “let down.” West claims to deeply regret his actions and claims to have found stability thanks to a regimen of “medication, therapy, exercise and sobriety.”

The most curious part of West’s letter is that the rapper admits to having taken refuge in Reddit forums to console himself. “I read people’s stories and realized that I was not alone,” the artist writes. Kanye’s next album, ‘Bully’, leaked in full on X, still has no release date.
