Brian Eno, pioneer and legend of electronic music and the ambient, has made a call to the artists to join in the charity concert that he has organized in Wembley. The Together For Palestine event will take place on September 17 and will be responsible for raising funds for Gaza families. Figures such as Khaled Ziada, Khalid Abdalla and Tracey Seaward Tamién have contributed to the organization.
“I have been fortunate to work with some of the most important artists in the world for more than 50 years, but one of my greatest regrets is that during that time we have all kept silent for Palestine,” says an anger in his statement while openly summons any artist who wants to join the cause.
Together For Palestine’s line-up has been released this Friday and includes names such as James Blake, Paloma Faith, Jamie XX, Rachel Chinouriri, Bastille or Mabel, among others.
The announcement coincides with the recent controversy between Rosalía and the designer Miguel Adrover, who accused the singer of not having publicly supported Palestine. The Catalan artist responded by ensuring feeling “sad” and saying that “the signal should go up.”
Brian an angry seems to give his point of view: “Most of the time, silence is due to fear since speaking openly can cause violent reactions, the closure of doors or the end of a race,” he says. However, he also thinks that “this is changing” because “the truth of what is happening has become impossible to ignore.”
