Hijos de la Ruina is the star of the week on the singles chart. Up to 10 songs from their fourth album are classified, to which we must add one that returns. The «Vol. 4» by Hijos de la Ruina – the joint project of Natos y Waor and Recycled J – opens in third place among the most successful albums in the country.
They achieve this thanks mainly to streaming and we assume that by selling some CDs. From the 21-track album, they include ‘No sé’ with Lia Kali in 53, ‘Hijos de la capital’ in 57, ‘Penas y glorias’ in 59, ‘Los niños del barrio’ in 69, ‘Again’ in 70, ‘Muerto en vida’ in 72, ‘AHÁ’ in 79, ‘First Class’ in 87, ‘La Trampa’ in 89 and ‘I lose control’ in ’99. Additionally, ‘Bajo zero’ appears again in ’83.
For comparison, Walls is direct number 1 on the album chart, but none of the songs from ‘El día que me forgets’ appear on the singles chart. Walls has sold CDs and, above all, vinyl, since he is in second place in this sublist.
The singles table presents little news this week. So much so that the first entry – by Hijos de la Ruina – happens outside the top 50. Romeo Santos and Prince Royce continue to occupy number 1 with ‘Dardos’, while ‘La Perla’ by Rosalía and Yahritza y su Esencia remains at number 2 and ‘Superestrella’ by Aitana at number 3. In fourth place is ‘La Villa’ by Ryan Castro, Kapo and Gangsta, which rises from 12. ‘You go sin (fav)’ by Rels B completes the top 5, in the middle of winter.
A trio of debuts complete the updated singles list: Manuel Turizo places his new bachata, ‘Por un pendejo no se cri’, at number 55. ‘MVLAN’, the joint single by YOVNGCHIMI (pronounced “Young Chimi”) and JC Reyes, places its drill rhythm at number 61. And ‘Bad Voy’ by Grecas – alias Ángel Rubio -, which samples ‘Achilipú’ by Las Grecas, debuts in ’85.
