has been born GenAIethat is, the Analysis Unit on Artificial Intelligence and Music in the digital era, a space designed for analysis, reflection and dissemination on the impact of AI on music.
GenAIe will promote strategic initiatives, such as transparency seals on the use of AI and new models of collective rights management, as announced at the presentation of the project in Madrid, specifically in a conference held at the headquarters of the AIE Society of Artists in Madrid, with the participation of experts from the musical, technological, legal and business fields.
The day was inaugurated by the president of AIE, Luis Cobos, who stressed that “music and technology have never been enemies, but constant allies.” Throughout the day, various topics have been addressed in talks such as the round table Generative AI and music: revolution or evolution?, a dialogue moderated by Jaime García Cantero, director of the content and debate forum on technology El País Retina, which has included professionals from different areas of the music and technology sector, such as Eduardo Figueroa and Jimbo Páez, from the Chanela Clicka collective; Javier de Torres, lawyer specialized in intellectual property; Lucía Martínez, founder and CEO of Breakevent; and Verónica Casas, CEO of the Blanco y Negro Music label. In it, the real impact of generative artificial intelligence on creative processes has been addressed, from composition and arrangements to musical production and post-production. And reflection has been made on which decisions remain inalienably human, in which phases AI can become a legitimate support tool and where the main risks of standardization or loss of artistic identity arise.
All GenAIe activity can be followed through its website https://genaie.es/as well as on its official social media channels. GenAIE’s mission is to observe, analyze and disseminate the impact of AI on music from the perspective of creators, contributing to a fair, sustainable cultural ecosystem focused on human creativity.
It will articulate its activity around four main axes:
Research and monitoring of technological, legal and market trends.
Generation of expert knowledge, aimed at artists, public decision-makers and civil society.
Dissemination and public presence in specialized forums.
Academic and institutional collaboration, promoting shared knowledge.
Likewise, the platform will promote strategic initiatives of a practical and applicable nature that contribute to highlighting the irreplaceable role of human creativity in the value chain of the music industry, such as the development of seals or identification and transparency systems on the degree of intervention of artificial intelligence in a musical work, as well as new models and tools for collective rights management adapted to the AI environment.
