Louris himself, whom we know above all for leading The Jayhawks since 1985, describes – contrary to what his title may suggest – that “Dark Country” It will be his “most intimate and romantic album” as it is inspired by his relationship with his wife, Stephanie, to whom the entire album is dedicated as if it were a “love letter.”

The album was recorded in Louris’s private studio at his home in the mountains of Quebec and featured occasional collaboration by Stephen McCarthy and string arrangements by Eleanor Whitmore of The Mastersonsin addition to having been mixed by Paul Kolderie (Hole, The Pixies, Uncle Tupelo).
“Getting Older” will be the opening song “Dark Country”an album that will also include the songs “Couldn’t Live A Day Without You”, “Dead Porcupine”, “By Your Side”, “Living On My Phone”, “Blow ‘Em Away”, “Redefining Love”, “Better To Walk Than To Run”, “Listening To Bobby Charles”, “Two Birds”, “Helping Hand” and “Perfect Day”.
