The artist has announced his 23rd album, “Future Quiet”, which will see the light next February 20 via BMG. Along with the announcement comes the album’s main single, a new version of “When It’s Cold I’d Like To Die” alongside Jacob Lusk (Gabriels). The original song (with the vocalist Mimi Goese) was released on the album “Everything Is Wrong” (95), and has gained a new generation of listeners thanks to its participation in the soundtrack of the first and fourth seasons of the series Stranger Things.
Regarding the new version with Lusk, Moby stated: “I fell in love with his voice instantly. After hearing him sing on the radio, I spent weeks looking for him and begging him to work with me. And, luckily, he accepted. The results speak for themselves, since his voice on “When It’s Cold I’d Like To Die” is, I say this with some objectivity, transcendent.”
“Future Quiet” marks a striking new chapter for the artist, exploring modern life and stillness through minimalist pianos, immersive soundscapes and vocal collaborations. Singer, songwriter and producer, Moby He released his first single in 1991, and has since sold more than 20 million albums worldwide. His innovative approach transformed electronic music, influencing producers, composers and artists of all generations. This year, the artist will embark on his biggest tour in a decade, including his appearance at the Coachella festival.
