From the high to the downturn in ‘El Club’ by Bad Bunny

Of the four video clips that Bad Bunny has launched of his ‘I had to throw more photos’, the first, ‘El Club’, is the most stimulating from a stylistic and narrative point of view. Much more than the traditional and functional ‘coconut pitorro’, the emotional short film, but quite formally flat, ‘I had to throw more photos’ and, its continuation, the tasty ‘unforgettable dance’, which works quite well as a nostalgic tribute to the sauce .

Directed by the usual Stillz, ‘El Cloba’ begins as literally as possible: Benito entering a club while he sings that is in a club in a song called ‘The Club’. The singer is “passing bastard” until … the downturn arrives. First video cut. We move on to a domestic scene, with Bunny more musty than me at one in the morning watching the speeches of the Goya, and unfolded in a subject and thought plan, with the “other” verbalizing the feelings that torment the “one.”

From a quite fortunate assembly resource-Bad Bunny turns off the light and the world darkens as a reflection of its mood-, it begins-second of the video-a discharge of surreal images, of dream flashes made through of various digital animation techniques, which conclude with the singer waking up from bad dream and wrapped in flames.

The most curious part of the clip is its surprising epilogue. It is the third video cut. Almost two minutes of images, already without the song sounding (only as a background echo), characterized by its formal experimentation and their suggestion capacity. As discards of recycled assembly in the form of absorbent audiovisual piece.
