Four decades after the premiere of “This is spinal tap”the legendary fictitious heavy metal band returns to the big screen with its hopeful sequel.
Directed by Rob Reiner, who also takes up his role as the documentary filmmaker Marty Di Bergi, the film brings together the three original protagonists: Christopher Guest (Nigel Tufnel), Michael McKean (David St. Hubbins) and Harry Shearer (Derek Smalls), now playing his characters in a more mature, gray version … and still disastrous.
The advance shows luxury cameos, with appearances of figures such as Paul McCartney, Elton John and Questlove, among others, while the band embarks on a last and rugged meeting to offer their farewell concert. As expected, nothing goes as planned: the group is looking for its twelfth drummer, after the previous one died after sneezing too strong.
The film will arrive at theaters next Friday, September 12, exactly 41 years after the launch of the original film, considered one of the great musical satires of all time. The script was co -written by Reiner, Guest, McKean and Shearer, who also exercise as producers with Michele Reiner and Matthew George.
“Spinal Tap II: The End Continue” Not only celebrates the legacy of the most infamous fictitious band of rock, but also the return of absurd humor, eternal riffs and amplifiers that always go until 11.
