Fangoria have been in charge of opening the first semi-final of Benidorm Fest 2026 with a medley that has rescued two of the duo’s greatest anthems: ‘Dramas y comedias’ and ‘Espectacular’. Not only that. Just before the end of the performance, the group from Alaska and Nacho Canut revealed some lines of what could be their new single.
Accompanied by their dance team and before presenting the festival candidates, Fangoria have occupied the stage of the Palau d’Esports l’Illa in Benidorm and have not only performed two of their biggest hits. The last 30 seconds of the number were dedicated to a new song of which we only know a couple of lines: “You stay, I’m leaving / It’s over / You stay, I’m here.” Then the performance ends abruptly.
There are those who theorize that these lines could be a reference to Spain’s decision to withdraw from Eurovision for the continuity of Israel in the contest, but it does not seem most likely. Of course, a phrase like “you stay, I’ll go” can have more than one meaning.
The gala presented by Jesús Vázquez, Javier Ambrossi and Inés Hernand ended with the first six qualifiers of Benidorm Fest 2026: Tony Grox and LUCYCALIS, Izan Llunas, KITAI, Miquel Herzog Jr., Kenneth and the duo formed by María León and Julia Medina. Dora & Marlon Collins, Greg Taro and Luna Ki, on the other hand, have not qualified.
