Eurovision excludes Spain from its European tour

Eurovision has sold out tickets for the grand final in Vienna in record time at the beginning of January, despite the withdrawal of several countries – including Spain – due to Israel’s continued participation in the festival. Eurovision is in crisis, but not that much. Now, for the first time in its history, it announces a European tour to celebrate its 70th anniversary. Does anyone doubt that it will be a success?

The tour will tour ten European cities – logically, none in Spain – and will feature veteran festival participants, as well as representatives of the 2026 edition. The line-up is not yet known, but all the dates, cities and venues are. A Eurovision singer who – we imagine – WILL NOT be there is Conchita Wurst, who has disassociated herself from Eurovision to “pursue other projects.”

Eurovision has briefly explained the creative direction of the tour: «To celebrate seven decades of the Eurovision Song Contest, the entire concert will be dedicated to the songs you love. The artists will perform their own Eurovision songs, as well as special versions of their favorite classics from the 70-year history of the contest.

«Created especially for the 70th anniversary, this unique concert experience has been designed especially for its fans; bringing together classic Eurovision performers and the biggest stars of Vienna 2026 to celebrate the legacy of the contest, its global community of fans and seven decades of music that unites people,” reads the statement.
