Dijon, towards pop perfection through the gospel in ‘Yamaha’

After working with Bon Iver and Justin Bieber, I said complete the best year of his career with the launch of his very expected second studio album, ‘Baby’. ‘Yamaha’, the Focus Track of the LP, is all we expected and more. It is pure pop perfection, and the song of the day.

‘Yamaha’ immediately remembers Dijon’s work on the last album of Bon Iver, ‘Saber, Fable’, in the sweet and gospel that is its composition. The chorus, in which Maryland’s artist claims to be in love “of this particular emotion,” deserves to be one of the hits of the year, although he never knows.

Produced by Dijon himself with Carter Lang, ‘Yamaha’ also hides surprises. In addition to being constantly changing and introducing and eliminating samples in the mixture, the song also begins by honoring the most celebrated song of Laurie Anderson, ‘or Superman’, which also talked about the family, being a conversation between the narrator and his mother.

‘Baby’ is the successor of the acclaimed ‘Absolutely’, and has been created with the collaboration of Jim-E Stack, Justin Vernon (Bon Iver), MK.Gee and Tobias Jesso Jr., among others.
