Dellafuente has another album on the way. As almost always, the rollout has begun without warning. After the melancholic first single, ‘Agradecío’, the Granada artist presents a banger in which he introduces elements of Caribbean music in his well-known and melodic style. ‘Caravaggio’ is the Song of the Day.
This is the second preview of ‘Brigado’, Dellafuente’s new album, which will be available starting June 19. ‘Caravaggio’ is characterized by its experimentation with genres such as Cuban son and salsa, from the chorus that takes us directly to the Caribbean (“Whether they want it or not / Today, tomorrow and always, I am water and bonfire”) to the powerful trumpets that run through the song. Something that was not invented here, but began on the album ‘Lágrimas pa’ otro día’, from 2023.
‘Caravaggio’ only has one verse and in it Dellafuente says everything he has to say, from declaring that “in Granada we do not want to be vassals” to describing his way of being by referencing the Italian painter: “I paint it for you as it is, if I don’t shut up / Realistic and dramatic, flow Caravaggio.”
At another time, the man from Granada claims to want to feel “human” to do “things that humans do”, from “criticizing behind the back” or “being individualistic”, to “wanting to be famous and seeking it by being an artist” or “abusing the weak”. Dellafuente, once again, refusing to release an empty song.
