Delaporte has denounced in a statement online the sexual assault that the singer, Sandra Delaporte, suffered last Friday, November 21 at her concert in Madrid, just a few days before the International Day against Gender Violence: “A man grabbed her head and ate her mouth without her consent.”
The electronic duo, who always transmit messages of mental health, vulnerability and safety on their social networks, have opened the statement clarifying that talking about what happened “hurts us and weighs us down”, but is necessary to “protect the space we build together at each concert.”
They say that, during her last concert at La Riviera, Sandra was doing a pogo with the audience, as she always does at her shows. That’s when a man grabbed her head to kiss her without her consent: “It was an unacceptable act of sexual violence.”
The concert continued until the end with the singer “in shock.” The statement clarifies that Sandra “wanted to keep it quiet and forget it because she didn’t want to tarnish the beautiful things that did happen.” However, after talking about it, they decided to communicate it. As for the aggressor, the band confirms that it has not been possible to identify him: “There were so many people that it is not known who it was.”
In the message, Delaporte directly addresses his followers and fans, while denouncing the seriousness of the events and making clear his “zero tolerance” for any sexual assault: “We need to lay a foundation of security, because apparently there are people who do not know what consent, respect and sexual violence are.”
