The British Coldplay They are, without a doubt, one of the most aware groups in relation to the ecological impact of their career. Now they announce that they will reissue all their discography in Ecorecord, vinyl made from one hundred percent of the PET of recycled bottles.
They will be transparent vinyls of one hundred and forty grams made of recycled plastic in whose production process carbon emission is reduced by up to an eighty -five percent. According to his record label, the Ecorecord sounds like “a normal vinyl, but has been manufactured with 100% PET material (polyethylene terephthalate in its acronym in English). A light and durable material that is easily recyclable and designed for the circular economy, significantly contributing to reducing transport emissions and the environmental impact at the end of the useful life.”
Each vinyl of 140 grams molded by injection is manufactured with an average of nine recycled PET plastic bottles. These bottles recover from consumers as part of a process known as post-consumption recycling (PCR), in which they are cleaned, are processed in small balls and then molded in new items. Although ecorecords can be manufactured with Virgin Pet or Recycled PET (RPET), Coldplay has chosen to use RPET only in all its Ecorecord products.
This pioneer initiative continues the path initiated by the British group with the publication of its most recent album “Moon Music”which became the first album in history to be published in Vinilo Ecorecord Rpet.
They will be published in Ecorecord “Parachute” (00), “A Rush of Blood To the Head” (02), “X & and” (05), “Long live the life or death and all His Friends” (08), “Mylo Xyloto” (11); “Ghost Stories” (14), “Head Full of Dreams” (15), “Everyday life” (19) and “Music of the Spheres” (21).
