Rolling Stone reported a few days ago that Diplo and one of the women who sued him for distributing revenge porn had reached a legal agreement. This is the case of Shelley Auguste, who accused the producer of manipulating her to send her explicit content and then sharing said photos with third parties. She also accused him of ejaculating inside her without her consent.
In turn, Diplo denounced her for harassing him and his family, for “not understanding that their relationship was over,” after several meetings in 2019. In 2022, Diplo won a confrontation according to which she had to pay him a million of dollars for not having maintained public silence about the case, as the court had requested. Specifically, Shelley Auguste referred to Diplo through lyrics by Rihanna and Taylor Swift, shared on social networks.
Now Diplo’s lawyer Brian Elliot Turnauer has assured that the trial that was to be held this Monday, January 13, has been canceled because both have reached an out-of-court agreement that is “days, not weeks, away from being signed.”
On the other hand, another similar case regarding the distribution of “revenge porn” will not be able to move forward if the complainant does not reveal her identity. She is known simply by the archetype of anonymity “Jane Doe.” As Billboard reports, a judge has decided not to move forward with the case if she does not use her real name to file a complaint. Already 10 days ago he had warned that if the plaintiff did not reveal her identity, they would not move forward, and this is the ratification.
