Bon Iver announces the first part of VOLUMESa compilation of performances between 2019 and 2023, which will be released next April 3.
VOLUMES: One “Selections From Music Concerts 2019-2023 Bon Iver 6 Piece Band” is the first non-studio album from the project led by Justin Vermon. It is a collection of ten songs taken from as many performances between the years 2019 and 2023 when the artist offered his last live concert. This is the inaugural installment of VOLUMESa series that will compile concerts, unreleased recordings, demos and exclusive material. In addition, the first preview of the project has already been released. “Heavenly Father – Mediolanum, Milan, IT. Nov 05 2022” has arrived on digital platforms accompanied by the video of the performance.
Inspired by Bob Dylan’s Bootleg series and Neil Young’s archives, the album reclaims the essence of Bon Iver as a six-piece band (Andrew Fitzpatrick, Jenn Wasner, Matthew McCaughan, Michael Lewis, Sean Carey and his own Vermont). The songs have been selected exclusively by Justin Vermont after reviewing several hours of recording.
The first part of this compilation will be released next April 3 via Jagjaguwar, and the tracklist will be as follows:
