The chivatos are going to "do something big" thanks to 'tron'

Beyond the headliners: 10 gems from Low Festival 2026

A new edition of Low Festival will be held from July 31 to August 2 with a lineup headed by names like Fangoria, La Casa Azul or Sidonie. The big news this year is its change of location: after years of being held in Benidorm, the festival moves to Torrevieja, a coastal city that will debut this new stage. The last tickets are now available and JENESAISPOP, the official media of the festival, will be there to tell you about it.

In addition to the change of venue, Low Festival presents this year a renewed graphic identity, visible in the cool design of its poster. What does not change is their commitment to the artists of tomorrow: in this article we recommend 10 names from the fine print that, in reality, have a lot of protagonists.

The Molotovs

They entered the top 3 sales in the United Kingdom with their debut, which confirms that on the islands they are already a revelation. The London punk-rock duo formed by teenage brothers Matt and Issey Cartlidge recovers the mod aesthetic of the 60s while producing great guitar songs like ‘Today’s Gonna Be Our Day’ or ‘More More More’: their immediacy speaks for itself.

Nerve Agent

One of the most distinctive proposals of the entire festival for its fusion of synth-punk, hardbass, bakala and other crosses between punk and synthesizers. Nerve Agent -pronounced “Nerbe Ajen”, according to their Wikipedia- visits the Low from Albacete to present their new album, ‘Sindicato de Violencia’, and there is surely no shortage of their most popular songs, from ‘Putos Negocios’ to their duet with another group present on the bill, Mala Gestión.

Repion

One of Mushroom Pillow’s breakout groups, Repion has set itself apart thanks to a sound indebted to 90s Spanish pop-rock. They don’t drown their voices in layers of distortion or write unintelligible lyrics, and they don’t abuse noise either. The duo formed by sisters Marina and Teresa Iñesta sing such accessible songs as ‘Barrio Somavilla’ or ‘El Sueño Dura Una Semana’, which should definitely boost them in the coming years.

Papa Mole

They do not spend much time on festivals, nor on the recording industry, since it was not until 2025 when their second album in 10 years hit stores. Adrià Arbona’s group, so present in recent underground hits such as ‘Por España’ by Samantha Hudson, returns to the stage to perform the repertoire of ‘Presto y con todo la Fuerza’. But surely those who remember them for ‘Black Opal’ or even ‘What I like about summer is eating ice cream’ will also be satisfied.

joseluis

The “handsome” of the new Spanish indie is also one of the singer-songwriters who best knows how to turn his songs into anthems: from the infinite chorus of “The rest is already there, I would leave it” in ‘Hazte Así’, his new single, to the fast-paced ‘Navajas de Albacete’, which Joseluis has allowed himself not to include in his debut album. He is so confident in the repertoire of ‘For Now, Forever’, and rightly so.

Green Awnings

The happy chorus “I haven’t been this well in months” is one of our favorites from recent months. It belongs to ‘100’, the single that brought together the Madrid band Toldos Verdes with Maitequiero, a former member of Shego. Their indie sound, slightly influenced by noise-pop, is so refreshing that the group hasn’t stopped playing for the last couple of years. ‘Ascensión Bielsa’ or his collaborations with San Tosielo are also highly recommended.

Youth

The Sevillian duo formed by Ángel and Nico debuted in 2024 with ‘La motillo’, a song that stood out for its original mix of tradition and humor. Since then they have released songs like ‘Dicen de ti’ and ‘Queen of my evils’, fusing rock, psychedelia and Andalusian folklore. His next album, produced by Iñigo Bregel of Los Estanques, promises to consolidate his proposal.

Aiko the group

More interconnections on the Low Festival lineup: Teresa, from Repion, is also the singer and guitarist of Aiko the group, a band characterized by its immediate punk pop and its ironic and catastrophic lyrics, such as those of ‘It was already going badly for me before’ or the songs from their fun debut, ‘They’re pointing a gun at me’. Influences from Ramones, Alaska and Los Pegamoides passed through an unmistakable contemporary prism.

The Snitches

Another of Mushroom Pillow’s big bets is the band led by Martín Azpilikueta, who has recently stood out thanks to their wicked single ‘Tron’, the first preview of Los Chivatos’ third album. After changing their name and signing with the aforementioned label, they have delivered a more direct and accessible album, with influences from punk, indie, Brit-pop and even touches of hip-hop.

The Silver

Specifically, Diego Escriche, from La Plata, produces ‘100’ by Toldos Verdes, another of the cartel’s not-so-secret connections. In reality, La Plata has long stood out among the groups that have best recovered existentialist and youthful protest post-punk, and each of their three albums – ‘Interzona’, ‘Acción direct’ and ‘Desorden’ – have offered great songs and an amazing evolution, from guitars to electronics.
