BAM Acció Cultura Viva opens its new call

BAM Acció Cultura Vivathe community music festival of La Mercè (Barcelona)has just started its call for what will be its tenth edition.

This new call will be open until March 16so you should hurry up if you want a chance to participate.

BAM Acció Cultura Viva It is a community festival that understands music as a “living, expansive cultural fact that occupies the streets and squares, crosses bodies and life. A way for music to dialogue artistically and communally.” Hence, it is committed to hosting emerging musical projects and is a festival open to proposals that connect music with other artistic languages. And the originality of the proposals is always valued.

To participate you have to fill out the form that you will find in lacausasonora.cat before Monday March 16.

The festival is sponsored by the Barcelona City Council within the framework of the Festivals of La Mercè, and is organized collectively, assembly-wise and openly as a project of cultural democracy. BAM Acció Cultura Viva proposes performances, traveling actions, workshops, installations, musical proposals for all audiences, performances, DJ sets, etc.,

Those selected are offered a fixed amount for the proposal and a payment for each member of the project, including the essential lighting and sound technicians. All this with the corresponding labor contracting, production expenses, travel and accommodation in case the proposals originate more than one hundred kilometers from Barcelona. The organization has a minimum sound backline for proposals that require it.

The programming is prepared by a commission of people arising from the open plenary session of Acció Cultura Viva, in collaboration with the rest of the Acció Cultura Viva team. BAM Acció Cultura Viva is promoted this year by the non-profit cultural association The Sound Cause.
