Bad Bunny will release a new album on Three Kings Day

Bad Bunny has the first macro-release of 2025: ‘Debí Tirar Más Fotos’, Benito’s sixth album, will be released on January 6, Three Kings’ Day in Latin America and Spain, among other countries. Like Tyler, the Creator, Bad Bunny prefers to release an album on a random day instead of Friday (‘CHROMAKOPIA’ also came out on a Monday).

Pre-save of ‘Debí Tirar Más Fotos’ on Spotify reveals that the album is made up of a total of 17 tracks, a few less than ‘Nobody Knows What’s Going to Happen Tomorrow’ (2023). ‘El Clúb’, the first preview, is number 13. And ‘Pitorro De Coco’, the second single, now available, is track 7.

In fact, ‘Pitorro De Coco’ is set during these holidays. Bad Bunny passes them only because the girl he likes ignores him. “Not a call, not a single message,” laments Benito. “You left like a light.” And that’s saying a lot in a country that suffers continuous blackouts.

The Christmas background of ‘Pitorro de coco’ is explicit: “I asked you for the Kings and for Santa Claus / The Kings pitched and Santa never arrived / If you’re not here, that’s what God wanted / Always “I knew it was ‘bad, don’t believe me’ that I’m blind,” Benito sings, resentful. By the way, coconut pitorro is a sweet liquor that is traditionally consumed during Christmas in Puerto Rico.

The instrumentation of ‘Pitorro de coco’ is interesting, as it offers an experimental approach to traditional cumbia. The change in style, therefore, is radical compared to the previous single, ‘El Clúb’, with an electronic sound. A song that has been top 3 in Spain, but has fallen from the 50 most listened to on Spotify.
