Bad Bunny, sued for 16 million for a sample

Bad Bunny should have “Third More Photos” and, perhaps, should have also legally authorized the use of a woman’s voice in two of his greatest hits. At least, that’s what a million-dollar lawsuit filed this Monday against the Puerto Rican singer and his partners alleges, Billboard reports.

A woman named Tinaly Serrano claims that Benito – who performs at the Super Bowl next month – has used her voice in ‘Solo de Mí’ (2018) and ‘EoO’ (2025) without her permission, and that he has exploited it commercially in both studio recordings and live performances.

The lawsuit maintains that Serrano’s voice can be heard in ‘Solo de Mí’ and ‘EoO’ pronouncing the phrase: “Look, damn, don’t take away my perreo.”

Serrano claims that he recorded this phrase at the request of producer La Paciencia, when they were both studying together at university in 2018. However, according to the lawsuit, he was never informed “of the purpose of the audio, nor that his identity would be used and exploited commercially,” nor was “any type of compensation discussed, nor was any contract or agreement signed, nor was any license or authorization granted.”

Rivera is represented in the case by the same legal team that sued Bad Bunny in 2023 for allegedly including his ex-girlfriend’s voice in the songs ‘Pa’ Ti’ and ‘Dos Mil 16’ without her consent.
