Artists and politicians sign a support manifesto to Pedro Sánchez and against the “conspiracy” of the right

More than one hundred figures from the world of politics and culture of our country have signed a manifesto of support to the government of Pedro Sánchez. The list, composed of personalities that range from Almodóvar or Serrat to former ministers and judges, serves as a defense against the “attack from all conservative and reactionary fronts” that ensure that the PSOE is suffering.

The text begins by denouncing the seriousness of “the alleged crimes committed by former PSOE organization secretaries”, before ensuring that “it is inadmissible that a democratically elected government falls by a Civil Guard report before a trial is held with all the guarantees in which the responsibility of the presidency or the affected party was accredited.”

This continues to describe a “conspiracy” of “some rights that have questioned the electoral result following the path of the Trump and Bolsonaro.” The text also denounces the language used by the opposition, as “criminal government” or “mafia capo”, used to refer to Sánchez.

Former Minister Alberto Garzón, actors such as Carlos Bardem or Loles León and film directors such as Pedro Almodóvar or Fernando Colomo are just some of the names that the manifesto have signed. From the world of music we find Joan Manuel Serrat, Alejo Estivel, Víctor Manuel, Ana Belén, Soleá Morente and Miguel Ríos. These are joined by trade unionists such as Ignacio Fernández Toxo and writers such as Manuel Rivas or Rosa Montero.

The document also refers to the events of Torre Pachecho and the “vandalization of the headquarters of the leftist parties”, which compare with “the fascist aggressions of past times.” Of course, they do not forget “the media” and their “orgy of false news or half truths in order to create an unressespable political climate.”

On the other hand, the PP has also published its own statement: “They go from intellectuals, but they do not know or write their own names”, in reference to an error of the original text when writing the surname of Manuel Chaves as “Chávez.” After asking that the polls be used, the PP continues to criticize those who have signed the manifesto: “Thus all Spaniards can be expressed and not only that fist left elite in high in defense of Sanchismo,” they say.
