Anne Hathaway releases ‘Burial’, written by Charli XCX and Antonoff

We already knew that Anne Hathaway could sing, thanks to her vocal steps in the films ‘Rio’ and ‘Les Misérables’, but this is the first time she has surrounded herself with such a surprising team. Charli XCX, Jack Antonoff and George Daniel, of The 1975 and Charli’s husband, produced and co-wrote ‘Burial.’ This is the first song on the soundtrack of ‘Mother Mary’, the new A24 film.

The ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ actress welcomes you to your own “burial”: “I’ll kill you softly / So sweetly,” Hathaway sings in the opening lines. The song will be part of the film album ‘Mother Mary’ along with six other songs, also sung by Hathaway and co-written by Charli, Antonoff and Daniel. These, along with FKA Twigs on some songs, will also be in charge of production. Twigs will also star in the film.

‘Burial’ is another film on the resume of Charli XCX, who has just released an album for the film ‘Wuthering Heights’. The A24 film is about a pop star (Hathaway) who reunites with an old friend and stylist (Michaela Coel).
