Amaral do not want to be sad in their most explicit and gorilla song

Amaral have published this week a topic that they have been anticipating on networks. This is ‘I don’t want more sad songs’, which they have created ad hoc for the Movistar+ series ‘Many people have to die’, also released this weekend.

It is Amaral’s most explicit song, at least since ‘Ratonera’, with Eva warning “don’t come at me with your cheap guru badges”, and exclaiming angrily: “you don’t know what it’s like to be in love!”. It also goes through the insult, even if it is negative: “I’m not going to think that it was my fault / that you were simply / another son of a bitch / Today I’m going to let you go forever / and cling to the songs that make me dance.”

Indeed, Juan Aguirre and Eva Amaral cling to music to get out of a crisis, in a recording that goes through all the stages. Ignoring the maxim that less is more, ‘I don’t want more sad songs’ begins with piano, then rebels against that as the title of the song proposes, and thus, adds electric guitars and the other typical elements of the pop-rock song. Which includes a drum section similar to the Queen of ‘We Will Rock You’, gorilla screams and finally even cheers and applause.

Not Amaral’s most subtle song but rather a functional one for a series and perhaps direct, ‘I don’t want more sad songs’ includes the choruses of the actresses Ana Castillo, Macarena García and Laura Weissmahr, protagonists of ‘Many people have to die’. Amaral wanted to soak up the spirit of the three women in this story. Three women in their thirties who have not been able to fulfill their life dreams.

‘Many people have to die’ is a creation by Victoria Martín, based on her best seller of the same name. Sandra Romero (‘The New Years’, ‘Where the Silence Passes’) directs the series along with Victoria Martín herself and Nacho Pardo, who sign two episodes.

As dedicated to the cause as always, Eva and Juan wanted to share a few words about their experience: “we felt absolutely privileged watching the series before it was finished and talking with Victoria about the universe that each character inhabits. It is no secret to anyone that we are his followers in all his facets and we are very excited to be part of this adventure.

Amaral will close their tour next December in large arenas in Madrid and Barcelona. Tickets are on sale on their website.
