Miley Cyrus comes back with ‘Bass Persuades’ after a bad start

‘Bass Persuades’ by Miley Cyrus had a correct entry in the Spotify Global, straight to position 23 last Friday, release day, but then the song fell apart. On Saturday it fell to number 132, and on Sunday it disappeared from the Global top 200.

It was this new week when the song began to rise and on Tuesday it finally managed to reappear on Spotify Global in position 139, after a couple of days outside the entire top 200.

In the United States, its country of origin, ‘Bass Persuades’ entered at number 10 on Spotify, then fell to 87, and finally disappeared on Sunday. However, the song would reappear in the United States this Monday, the day of the week that new songs usually rise after the weekend. It re-entered position 137 in the US chart and has also climbed to number 64 in Tuesday’s data. If the trend continues or simply stays the same, we could be talking about a small hit.

Other countries that have joined the comeback are Canada (#102) and Germany (#193). There would be a long way to go to achieve a global hit, as ‘Flowers’ rose to the top after its first weekend, before becoming the number 1 that we all know today; but it is still not impossible.

According to official UK forecasts, ‘Bass Persuades’ aspires to be top 40 on the British charts, after reaching number 21 in the midweeks. It is expected that during the week it will continue to drop until it is around positions 35-45. A scenario very similar to the American one: according to unofficial forecasts it could also be around number 36 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Entry is not expected in Spain, where the song reached number 77 on Spotify, but immediately dropped to 193. At the moment there has been no re-entry in our country, always so complicated for songs in English.
