Today marks the 25th anniversary of ‘Can’t Get You Out of My Head’, Kylie Minogue’s great classic, and the Australian has another celebration to match just around the corner: her own Super Bowl.
On September 26, Kylie will headline Telstra Pre-Game Entertainment for the AFL final, the Australian equivalent of the American football grand final. He will perform at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), in front of nearly 100,000 spectators and millions more on television.
The performance will last 20 minutes and will be a particularly ambitious production, with dancers, scenery, visual effects and staging designed specifically for the MCG. The AFL assures that it will be one of the largest pre-entertainment setups made for the final.
For Kylie, born in Melbourne, the event also has a particularly emotional component. The AFL final is one of the most important sporting events in Australia and its performance marks the return of one of its biggest stars to the big stage of his country.
The repertoire has not yet been announced, but it is difficult to imagine a Kylie celebration in 2026 without ‘Can’t Get You Out of My Head’, precisely when the song that popularized that unforgettable “la-la-la” turns a quarter of a century old.
