Cristina Llanos, voice of Dover, has broken her silence with ‘The night fell and no one can save me’ (La Esfera de los Libros), a diary in which she reviews some of the hardest episodes of her life. El Mundo publishes a preview of the book, which arrives in bookstores this Thursday.
Llanos crudely recounts the abuse suffered by his father, including insults, beatings and other violent situations, and also tells of the sexual assault he suffered at the age of 18 by a neighbor, after which years of depression and suicidal ideations began. About the latter, she writes: “I live because, although I am ashamed to admit it to myself, I have no balls to kill myself.” The book also addresses anorexia, which she suffered during different stages of her life, and its relationship with alcohol and medications.
The book also addresses fibromyalgia, which ended up affecting his vocal cords and caused Llanos to leave the stage, as well as the death of his brother Mariano in 2023 and that of his parents.
In ‘The night fell and no one can save me’ there is also room for his political opinions, which promise to be quite controversial. Llanos declares herself a radical feminist, in a position close to what is called “TERF” in English. She attacks the current Trans Law and questions whether legislation that, according to her, “unprotects” women can be considered a good law.
The newspaper also includes reflections on other political and social issues, including its favorable position on Israel, according to El País, although this part does not appear in the preview published by El Mundo.
