Selena Gomez, sued for investor fraud

Selena Gomez and her mother, Mandy Teefey, have been sued by two companies that put more than a million dollars into Wondermind, the mental health company they founded with Daniella Pierson. According to the lawsuit, the information they received about the company, its structure and its possibilities of becoming a profitable business did not correspond to reality.

According to TMZ, investors believe that Selena gave the impression of being very involved in Wondermind, although after receiving the money she hardly would have done anything in the company. They also single out Daniella Pierson for allegedly exaggerating her business successes and profitability expectations.

The lawsuit says that for three years Wondermind was accumulating problems without anyone notifying investors. They did not know the magnitude of the situation until The Cut published an article in September 2025 in which it spoke of a company in “total disarray.”

The article also includes accusations about Mandy Teefey’s alleged substance abuse problem and her management of the company. She denies these accusations and says they come from disgruntled former employees. Now, the investors are taking the case to court for alleged securities fraud and demanding to recover the money invested, in addition to other damages.
